Oceania VSA Announcement

11 February, 2010

Service to be Upgraded

The member lines of the Oceania Vessel Sharing Agreement (Hamburg Süd, Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk Line and ANL-USL) will add an additional vessel to the weekly PSW string operating between the West Coast of North America and Australia/New Zealand.

The investment of an extra ship is being undertaken in response to growing concerns over congestion in Australian ports and a strong desire on the part of the member lines to ensure a reliable fixed day weekly service is maintained.

The weekly Pacific Southwest String (PSW) will utilize seven 2500 teu vessels calling Long Beach, Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney, Tauranga, Suva (2x monthly), Honolulu (1x monthly), Oakland, Long Beach.

In addition to the PSW string, the Oceania VSA will continue to operate the fortnightly Pacific Northwest String (PNW) with 4 vessels, calling Seattle, Vancouver, Long Beach to Tauranga, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and return via Auckland, Papeete (Tahiti), Ensenada (Mexico) to Oakland and Seattle.

The additional vessel will join the service in late February.
